March 6, 2010

Well I went down to the pond on Indian School and Hayden. The water was very murky. I fished for about an hour not even a bite. I did see a two different guys catch a nice one though. I hope to get out again sometime this week.

Tips I have Used for Success

I have really only been able to fish some urban lakes very thoroughly and this technique has produced a very good day at Bartlett.
I used a 2/0 worm hook with a Berkley4in worm that is brown with a bright green tail. I put a split shot about 12-18 in above the hook and just bounced the split shot on the bottom. This is my preferred way.
Anyone have any others?

Caught this Bass at the pond on Indian School and Hayden last summer. Brown rubber worm with a bright green tail. I have had pretty good luck there.

Chaparral Park

This is new, but all you Arizona Fishermen/women can come here to check reports or even give some reports or tips of your own. It's a good place for info for all of us that love the sport.

Here we go first report:
Went down to Chaparral Park Saturday 2/27, trying to catch some trout and actually has some luck. They had stocked the week before so I knew the lake would have some fish (I believe they stock on Fridays). I caught four decent trout. I was using green powerbait with a split shot as my weight. I had another rod out with some salmon eggs on it, but it wasn't getting the action that the powerbait was. I had a pretty good amount of hits but they seemed a little finicky. I also tried the rainbow powerbait nuggets but they were not getting any action. I know there is one more stocking of trout before they do a sunfish stocking. After the sunfish they will switch to catfish for the summer. Anyone else go out to any urban lakes or the big lakes over the weekend, please share. I know there was a bass tournament at Roosevelt a few weeks back I will get back to you with the results.
